Well, the weather has not been up to much, unless you enjoy snow, so this is my first run out since January. A gentle run into Worcester and back, mainly along the towpath. I blame my inactivity this year so far on weather and swine flu – but I’m afraid I did feel my lack of fitness even on this little loosening run. I could kid myself, but the computer and the heart monitor don’t lie (damn them!).
Got the old touring bike out – it is a lovely ride; you sometimes forget how comfortable steel can be. I have been doing some work on it over the winter – it is kind of ‘retro’, and I was in two minds whether to make it really classic though I guess the 1980’s MBK frame is not the best foundation to build upon so maybe I will just build for comfort and pleasure.
